Christmas Gift for Children

Hi!
I wanted to share with you a Christmas gift that my husband and I are giving our children this year. We have gotten them both a decorative box to be stored in the top of their closet. What goes in this box? What is it intended for?

It is the "You are So Loved and So Special" box.

It is "The wonderful history of (insert child's name)" box.

Many moms do not have time to scrapbook or carefully document each and every memorable event or moment in their children's lives. These boxes will make it easier on you. Each child will have their own special box that you put keepsakes in for them. Put things in there that will remind them of how much they are loved by you and the family.

They are only allowed to look at it on special occasions or if they are feeling down. Whenever they are out of the house and settled- You give them their special box as a gift.

We are going to make a personal photo book for each child every year (shutterfly is what we use). We will give them their photo book every year at Christmas for them to put in their very special box.

Also- We have put a decorative notebook in each box. Every year at Christmas or Birthday we will both write them a personal letter in that notebook.

Here are some examples of things to put in the box:

~Jot down funny things they say -date it- and toss it in the box

~snapshots that show love and fun between themselves and their siblings

~Any special birthday card that they receive that has a sweet note written in it

~Some of your favorite artwork by them ( be selective- try to live simple and clutter free- but still preserve memories)

~Favorite Toys/clothes/books

~A list each year of their favorites (would be good to keep in the notebook)

Will add Cute Letters to the box soon with a catchy title
Enjoy! I hope you do something similar to this for your kiddos! (or husband) (My husband and I have a box together for special things)

Mom Heart

Hi Friends! I just wanted to share with you about a GREAT book I've been reading. It's called The Mission of Motherhood. It is written by Sally Clarkson. I've been working on reading it for a while now. I started the book and thought there were so many good points in it- so I started marking them with cute little tabs. However, as we all know living with a toddler... things don't always work out perfectly. One day my sweet, sweet, little girl thought it'd be fun to rip out all my tabs. So, I started over- But got smart with my pinning. I wrote down the notes that I'd like to remember in my own personal journal. The way the book is written after each chapter she gives you "Something to Think About" which is a mini-bible study and "Something to Try", a practical way to put the wisdom into action. I only get a few minutes in the morning to read so currently I am going back through the book and doing the bible study each morning. It is very refreshing. I have already put into action several of the "Things to Try" suggestions and I can testify that it has been very rewarding for my soul as a mother and a wife. I am about to start the next book that goes after this one called The Ministry of Motherhood.
With all that being said... She is hosting a MomHeart conference next year in Dallas, TX. If you could any way make it... I know that it will have an impact on your life for the better. Here is the link if you are interested.

Intentional LOVING

Hi Everyone!
Thank you so much for stopping by to read my post. I just wanted to follow up on my last post about preparing a peaceful time for your family during this busy season. I decided to do it for my husband this morning. He has had a couple of busy weeks and has two more ahead of him. I made homemade cinnamon rolls and made him a sweet card. I could tell that his spirit was refreshed after a peaceful morning to start the day before the chaos begins. My original plan was to do this for my family, but I don't know about you but I am against waking sleeping infants and toddlers at 5 am to have a peaceful family breakfast. So, instead we will  do shape pancakes on a weekend morning.  I encourage you to do something out of the norm routine for your spouse this Christmas season.  Let's be DOERS and NOT SAYERS!
My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and truth. 1 JOHN 3:18

Pin this on Pinterest if you plan on doing something special for you loved one this season. I would love for you to come back and post pictures of your special breakfast.

Blessings~
Amanda
