I love the feeling of the New Year turning and then the feel of the New Year turning to Spring...I love all the flowers blooming, trees budding, being able to play outside with the kids until the sun sets. It's such a nice transition of New Beginnings and Fresh Starts.
You hear many people making goals... Mainly about exercise and being fit.
Our bodies are a precious gift from God and it is important for us to be good stewards of our body and take care of them.
Many people struggle in this aspect whether it be- a love of food or hate of exercise or just a combination of the both. It can all be traced to some form of a lack of self-discipline (Please be aware that I'm not talking of someone who has physical ailments or health concerns that prevent them).
I wanted to write this post to encourage you that YOU CAN DO IT! In 2 Timothy 1:7- It says For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. God did not create us to be weak and unable to conquer our fleshly nature. He has so graciously and lovingly given us a spirit of power and discipline.
If you are struggling in this area- Ask God to help you with it. Go to him in prayer. (Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension will guard your heats and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7)
Having trouble getting started? Here's something easy to start with. DRINK MORE WATER. There are at least 100 GREAT reasons to drink water... But I don't want to overwhelm you- So here are 3 reasons to Drink More Water.
1. Drinking water helps your energy level. The main reason many people feel fatigued is because they are dehydrated. Did you know that your brain is made mostly of water? and your muscles? No wonder you feel fatigued when you don't have enough water.
2. Water helps flush toxins from your body (This helps your kidney's and liver function better)
3.WEIGHT LOSS- Drink water instead of your calorie drinks. Those calories from
cavity juice sugary soda's, juice, and teas add up faster than you think. Water has 0 calories, 0 carbs, and 0 sugar. You'll be amazed at how much that helps. Your body also sometimes mistakes hunger for thirst.
Here is a tip on how to start if it is hard for you. As soon as you get finished with your coffee in the morning (And I'm sure we all drink only 1-2 cups right?...... Well.... Let's not talk about that right now) Anyways.. After you finish your coffee- Immediately fill up your pretty water cup. (Mine says "Serve the Lord with Gladness" What a great reminder to look at all day)
You must drink it and fill it up 3 times before supper. If you do- then treat yourself to your favorite beverage at dinner.... If you don't drink all your water- Then happily pour yourself a glass of ice water for dinner. Don't forget to put the lemon on it? It makes it look so much better!
Sounds like a small easy enough goal , right? Try it out this week and see how it goes. If you don't have a cute water cup.... I recommend you get one:) I never leave home without it.
