How to get the Perfect Husband

Hi Friends-
A pic of me and my Sweet Man and Best Friend
What a title!

Wouldn't we all like to know How to get the Perfect Husband

We all want that right? Well Girls......The secrets out. No husband is perfect. We are all fleshly sinners saved by grace. The answer is very simple- We must change our perspective and our attitude. We must intentionally choose to love our husbands unconditionally willfully and joyfully.

BUT...... Even though our husbands will not be perfect (nor us- even if we might think differently). We can strive to be that Godly wife that God has given to him. Early in our marriage I read the book by Stormie Omartin, The Power of a Praying Wife. I thought the chapters and concepts were very good. I gleaned some great nuggets of wisdom that would help me in our marriage.

I was looking back over my journal recently and found my notes on that book. I had condensed her chapters into short notes for myself to help me in my prayer times. It is a short compiled list of ways to pray for your husband. Finding my list was a great reminder for me of ways to pray for my sweet man. I'd like to share it with you. Click HERE to get the list. Print it off and put it somewhere that is easily accessible when you need a little encouragement or a quick reminder of ways that you can be lifting your husband up in prayer. ENJOY!

Blessings

  1. Amanda,
Jason and I are going through the iMarriage study in our small group right now- it's great! Last night we discussed what happens when you let all expectations go and are free to LOVE like God loves us. Jason and I came to this realization years ago and believe it is one of the reasons we have such a strong marriage. I was still challenged last night and a little overwhelmed when it occured to me that I am not created to just be his helper, but that I am there to help him become everything God created him for! So if I am not furthering my relationship with the Lord then I am hurting Jason. WOW! For me it's humbling, honorable, and overwhelming all at the same time. Yet, I am encouraged because I have one of the greatest husbands and he continues to get better with each passing year... I must be doing something right! I choose to love him unconditionally- where he is, how he is, and for who he is.... in return I recieve a love that far exceeds anything I ever imagined! I am so grateful GOD chose me!

  2. Steph-
Thanks for your comment. You are exactly right!!!! Letting expectations go allows you to love more freely and more abundantly. I love your comment "I choose to love him unconditionally-where he is, how he is, and for who he is" That is such a rich statement. I love to hear that. It is so encouraging to hear other moms/wives striving to be the woman that God intended us to be in all aspects of our lives. Its so exciting!

  3. Hi Amanda,
It's always SO good & refreshing to be encouraged in loving our husbands and being the wife God wants us to be. This book was very influential in my marriage and in my prayer times, as well. Thanks for your post!

  5. I had to come by when I saw the title of your post, "How to Get the Perfect Husband." LOL.

No, none of us will be perfect, but praying for our husbands will certainly bring results - both in them and in US.

    God bless!
