How to make Cutzie Scripture Cards

Hi Friends:
I have really been working on trying to memorize scripture lately. I have found that I have a hard time doing it when not seeing it constantly. Here is a quick, simple way to post your scriptures for memorization purposes or just little reminders for yourself.  What I love about doing it this way is that it's Cheap, Easy, and Easily Changed.

1. I go to our local scrapbook store and head straight to the clearance section to find my papers. I buy whatever is on clearance. But, I make sure to buy the double sided paper because it already matches.
2. Next I type up the scriptures that I'd like to post or memorize and print them out.
3. I'm not very gifted in the "cut straight lines" area. So, I have to pull out a ruler to make it look right.
4. Next I cut out all my scriptures with fancy scissors.
5. Now it is very easy. Glue scripture to back of scrapbook paper. Cut it out and glue it to the corresponding matching side of the paper. (I'm sorry I wrote directions for that step... I know you are smart.... Forgive me)

6. Here is a group that I made.

Next.... What do you do with all of them?!?! I mean we want our houses to look nice, simple, and decorated in style with a crisp, clean, fresh feel.... So what will a bunch of glued paper do to my decorating....? Here's what I did with mine.

1. Laundry is NOT my favorite chore. I wish I could HIRE someone to do it for me. Wouldn't you love to wake up everyday to fresh clothes folded and put away- and ORGANIZED in your closet by color- That you didn't have to do? I WOULD! But.... it doesn't really work like that. I do our laundry at our house for FREE. I've been working on my attitude towards this chore.... I always find myself telling my daughter- " Do everything with a cheerful heart-sweet girl, God wants us to "Do all things without grumbling or complaining" Philippians 2:14. Man... Don't you love those moments as a parent when you realize you must Practice what you Preach. Anyways- I hung this verse next to my washing machine as a gentle reminder that as I'm folding another pair of socks that I am doing it "unto the Lord" and I am serving HIM as I'm serving my family. Colossians 3:23-24  Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,  knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
2. Next- I put this scripture by my sink. Wouldn't we all love to tame the tongue! I know I would. Repeating these verses over and over and ingraining them on my heart help me throughout my day. Proverbs 31:26 She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.  Proverbs 21:23He who guards his mouth and his tongue, Guards his soul from troubles. If you haven't ever done a study on the tongue- I strongly encourage you to do so. It's AMAZING! Seriously.. just look up tongue in your concordance and read all the verses about it.
3. This is a bulletin board in my daughters room. I periodically post scriptures on her board for her. I know she can't read yet.... but I do remind her of what they say.
4. I post them on my fridge.

5. I also have an "ever changing" bulletin board in my home. We use this for quotes, art masterpieces created by a 1 year old little man and a 2 year old princess, mementos, cards from friends, or any other type of thing that has a good memory with it. It is like a tangible rotating scrapbook of our lives.

Here are a few things I've posted on it. " I don't stop when I'm tired... I stop when I'm done"

I love this one- Don't waste your Calories.
What great reminders?
So now... On from our bulletin board and back to scriptures. I have one in my bathroom that I will see first thing in the morning. This is the day which the LORD has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
Here is one that I posted above my husbands sink. Sometimes we get real funky and write verses and messages on our mirror.
We also have a small bulletin board towards the back of our house. It's the first wall we see when we walk out of our room. At first, I had this as a "prayer board". I got the idea off pinterest...... but soon found out I didn't really like it. I didn't like all my prayer reminders being on display in my hallway for anyone to see.... I liked them better in the privacy of my journal. So this board turned into a quote, scripture board as well.
Like I said earlier- This is CHEAP,EASY, and EASILY CHANGED It is just a way to leave yourself little reminders throughout your busy day. ENJOY!

  3. yay! Enjoy them! I know it has helped me with memorization as well as changing my attitude when I see a scripture that I need. It never fails - I always glance at just the one I need at the right time. I change them often.

    1. I love putting them on our mirror too. I usually choose verses relevant to situations in our lives at the time to encourage my husband (on his side) and to help keep my priorities straight (on my side).
