Angel Tea Party- Birthday

It's super fun being a mom! I never thought this is what my life would be like..... but Oh My!- I'm so thankful it is........ I'm so glad that God's plan for our lives are much better than our own! Aren't you?!?!?  I'm so thankful that I am learning to let go of all the things that don't really matter. (emphasis on learning)  I'm thankful that the Lord is helping me embrace motherhood with a joy and a passion. I'm thankful that we can go to Him and ask for wisdom and guidance.

Nothing brings me greater joy than being a wife and mom. I love the work and effort it requires. I love taking my job seriously. (while having some fun!)

I was reading in Proverbs this week about laziness and doing your work diligently.

Proverbs 19:15
Laziness casts one into a deep sleep, And an idle person will suffer hunger.

I do not take my "homemaking" lightly. I want to serve and work for my family with a cheerful and deliberate heart.

Proverbs 13:4
The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.

I choose to not be lazy in my home. I choose to take it serious and put great effort into my husband and kids. I choose to be intentional and deliberate with my family. I choose to teach my kids the Word- I choose to make them feel special and put intentional effort into pouring into their lives.

Colossians 3:17 and 3:23
And whatever you do in the word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him

And whatever you do , do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men

Whether it's planning tea parties, birthday parties, menus, cleaning, extra activities, family outings, serving opportunities, or just little surprises. I thank the Lord for my opportunity and I want to do it all to glorify Him.

With all that being said............

We were blessed to celebrate our first born's 3 year old birthday this month.  We had an Angel Tea Party.

We read angel books, made angel crafts, and talked about Angels.
The girls dressed up as sweet angels for the party.

What a sweet memory!

What a blessing it is to put effort into my family and pour love and encouragement into their lives!

Blog Party

Oh how I've missed blogging lately.........

But instead I've chosen to turn the computer off for a while and do some serious
 "hang time" with my kiddos.

I feel refreshed and thankful for the life that the Lord has blessed me with.

Sometimes- I wonder why do I blog?... But then I remember Why I blog. It's because I enjoy it.
I am constantly evaluating my time...The gift that God has given me.... Time is a gift- I evaluate what I'm doing with the precious moments that He's blessed me with.

But every time I do...... He sends someone my way to encourage me on my blogging journey... Every time I think about stopping I get a random email from a stranger, random comment from a fellow blogger, or a face to face friend encouraging me on this crazy blogging quest I'm on. Isn't God good! He knows that I sometimes need some prompting:)

And yesterday when I checked my mail..... I had this sweet prop from my friend (real life friend too!) at Money Family Musings  She recommended my blog on hers! How nice!!! What an encouragement boost!

She asked me to answer a few questions... So here it goes:

1. What are some of your favorite Christmas Traditions?
I personally love everything! Our family is young.... We have a 3 year old, 18 month old, and a baby on the way so we are still working out what "our family" traditions are going to be.... It's exciting to learn what your children actually like doing every year. You wouldn't want to force any traditions that everyone hates..... The best advice I've had about a "tradition" is this... "Just make sure everyone likes it and actually wants to do it every year" So as mine are still young... we are still figuring it out. But personally right now- I enjoy making homemade caramels and eating them! lol! (I'll post the recipe sometime) I also enjoy Christmas Eve chats with my husband. We enjoy reflecting over the year and thinking about the direction we want our family to go. Other than that.... What we do year to year seems to be different:) We've tried out a lot of "traditions" that we realized we didn't even like. hahaha

2. What is your favorite kind of food and why?

Easy... I have 3 favorites

Bread, Cheese, and Ice-Cream (not soft serve! real stuff)
Why?!? Who doesn't like bread?!?! I will choose my restaurant on if I like the bread they serve to start the meal! lol
Cheese- Oh Glorious cheese..... I have to constantly change my menu plan because I realize I had cheese in our meal every night. lol (Don't worry I do limit it)
and
Ice Cream- mmmmm..... Do I need to say anything else?

3. Are you planning any vacations? Where? If not where would you most like to go?

My husband and I have a Team Farris Bucket List..... We constantly add crazy things that we would like to do together or as a family. So it gets pretty long....... Currently one of the things on our list is : Go to Savannah Georgia and eat a box of chocolates on a bench

Our list hangs in our bedroom so we can add as needed ;)

4. What is your perfect size family?

hmmmmm... We will just let God decide:) I would hate to say a number and then have a "surprise"... I would feel way to guilty... So Let me just say that I love what we have now- 2 with 1 on the way... How Fun!!!

5. If you could live anywhere, where would that be?

I'll give you the sappy answer.... Wherever my husband is.

So that about sums up my bloggy party with Money Family Musings-

Here are some of the starter blogs I love:
1. Keeping It Girl: This is a real life friend blog..... I love her recipes. I make her Muffins (which my kids love) and her Crustless Quiche on a regular basis!

Okay.... I don't know a lot of starter blogs..... I read about 4 or 5 blogs on a regular basis (besides Money Family Musings) and they are all "big" So I'll just share one of those with you.

2. I Take Joy- This is by no means a small blog.... but this is my favorite Mom Author. Her books Mission of Motherhood and Ministry of Motherhood have changed my life! My perspective on Motherhood completely changed after reading the Ministry of Motherhood.  I am so thankful to have these resources in my mom library.

Thanks so much for taking time out of your day to spend it @ Embracing Grace! I feel so honored and humbled!- If you get a free minute I'd love for you to like my Facebook Page and if you can I'd love to come to your inbox

Freezer Breakfasts

Hi Friends!

Here's a quick post about what we've been doing in the kitchen.

My husband serves our family so faithfully and I would like to cook him breakfast in the morning...... but as we know with littles that doesn't always happen..... Not to mention I usually go run in the morning and come back sweaty and nasty (not good conditions to cook a breakfast)

While- he never complains and has never mentioned wanting me to cook for him..... As I watch him cook his own every morning or eat cereal..... I wanted to serve him... (and there is some truth to the statement " A way to a man's heart is through his stomach"
he he he) I wanted to send him off to work feeling loved and appreciated with a full stomach from a hot breakfast.

So- I found some freezer breakfast recipes and tried them out on him.

We made Pumpkin Chocolate Chip MuffinsBreakfast Burritos, and Cinnamon Rolls.

They all turned out great!!! The cinnamon rolls reheated perfectly. The breakfast burritos tasted nice and fresh. And the chocolate chip pumpkin muffins were delicious! (My kiddos got more of the muffins for breakfast than my hubby did)

My husband super appreciated having nice breakfasts before work with no clean up and no effort to cook. And I liked being able to serve my man.

I super appreciated having them on hand for busy mornings when we needed to leave the house early.

Plus- It has been nice for the busy Christmas season. We've used the muffins and cinnamon rolls  for snacks when guests have come over OR when we've needed to take something somewhere.

This is something that I will continue to do fairly often. Not to mention- it was fun making the muffins and cinnamon rolls with my kids!

I'm also thinking about giving fresh cinnamon rolls as some Christmas gifts- Do you like receiving homemade goodies as gifts? If so what are your favorites? If you have a link to them- please leave it- I'd love to check it out!

Oh and if you're looking for a good cookie to freeze- We love Monster Cookies at our house. My husband eats them up!

Thanks for stopping by and taking part in my life! While you are here I'd love for you to take a second to like my Facebook Page
